Formal /Informal Training and Assessment:

Formal/Informal Training and Assessment is done onsite at Affordable Driving School with a fully qualified trainer and assessor or if you have a suitable workplace and suitable machinery we can come out to you to do the training and assessing. The course is competency based training and takes you right through from theory, practical and to your assessment. Once our trainer/assessor has deemed you fully competent we will then provide you with your statement of attainment and other relevant documentation.

Formal Training (Powerpoint Presentation):

Formal Training is mandatory. This is a requirement set by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Formal training covers all aspects of the excavator, legislation requirements, demonstrations and all elements from the excavator training and assessment instrument. At the end of the formal training you will be required to undertake a theory exam to be deemed competent.

Informal Training (Practicing):

Once you have completed the formal training you will be given a training plan. On the training plan are the tasks that you will need to practice. This practice can be done on our machines at our Affordable Driving School site or you can take the training plan away with you and practice at your work site providing you have supervised training by a person who holds a relevant ticket.

Assessment:

When you have practiced all the necessary tasks and our trainer and assessor or your supervisor has deemed you a competent excavator operator an assessment can be undertaken. With the assessment process you will be required to demonstrate the necessary tasks from the unit of competency and cover all elements associated with these units. 

**Excavators used for training are minimum 2 litres as per Workplace Health and Safety Guidelines**
